Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to over 124 million children affected by war, poverty, natural disasters, and other crises in more than 150 countries and territories. We partner with local churches to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who receive shoebox gifts and offer a 12-lesson discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, that helps boys and girls learn what it means to follow the Lord and share their faith with others.
Creekside has 300 shoeboxes to fill and we’re hoping you can help! See the OCC table in The Hub at Creekside to take home a shoebox (or as many as you like) to fill with gifts and a $7 donation per box to cover shipping. You can find packing guidelines and instructions in The Hub or online (http://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box). We will need all packed shoeboxes returned to Creekside by Sunday, November 15th, or they can be dropped off at any OCC drop-off location the week of November 16-23. (To find a drop-off location and hours near you, enter your ZIP code at http://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/drop-off-locations —there are 8 within 20 miles of Creekside.)
Every shoebox you pack makes a big difference to a child’s Christmas and can have an even bigger impact on their eternity! See Kari McLaren or Amy Johnson with any questions.
