6/23-7/14 CRITICAL RACE THEORY VIDEO & DISCUSSION

Join us Wednesday evenings—June 23, June 30, July 7, and July 14—from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for our Creekside Summer Study Series followed by fellowship time and refreshments. We will be watching a video on Critical Race Theory, a movement and that is impacting our schools, government and society. We will be learning and discussing a Biblical approach to race relations toward the goal of unity rather than division. Special guest Jamel Crawford from New Life Center will join us on the 14th to share ideas about what we as a church can do to build unity with the African American community in our area. For questions, please contact Doug Elrick.

7/4 4TH OF JULY PICNIC & FIREWORKS

You and your family, friends and neighbors are invited to Creekside’s July 4th picnic on Sunday 7/4 starting at 6PM! Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Please plan to bring a side dish and dessert to share. Dinner will be served from 6-7PM, with activities and lawn games following prior to the start of the fireworks around 10:00PM. Plan on bringing your lawn chairs to watch the Urbandale fireworks right from Creekside!

We want to make this fun and safe fellowship and outreach event for you and our community to enjoy. To do that, we are asking for volunteers to help with the following:
1. Set up fellowship hall and back yard with chairs, tables and other items prior to the event (before 6PM).
2. Serving snow cones and popcorn at their machines during the event in shifts (5:30-9:30 PM).
3. Tear down and clean up after the event (10:30PM).
Volunteers may contact Anand Darla or Mark Kline. Thank you!

“I thought we were just going to talk about it. I didn’t know we were going to do it!” -Camilla, age 5
Creekside Sunday school kids were both hearers and doers during a March 7th lesson in John 13, where Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” (Jn. 13:35)
